Technical drawing of the Planetary and Space Simulation Chamber.
|
|
The simulation chamber stands in the experiment hall of the
Institute of Space Simulation of DLR, Köln, Germany.
Above the chamber there is the reservoir of liquid nitrogen
for the cooling system. The facility is operated and controlled
by a PC-based control panel (bottom). |
|
The chamber's interior is accessed by lifting the cover which
contains the cold ceiling made of copper.
|
|
The inner cold compartment made of copper with a diameter of 1.40 m
is available for space simulation experiments.
We see here also the outer shell which isolates the inner compartment
thermically by vacuum.
